Itindicates thattraditional cost managementmerelyimplementsactivity centeredcontract management dueto the inadequacy of its conceptual base,thus causes many problems ofcost control, suchasuncertainand local optimizition and so on. Then this paper discussespotential conflictslying in cost plan, cost control,cost accountingand cost analysis, then putforwardtheimplicationof Lean Construction for cost management. This paper suggests that costmanagement should support Lean Construction in threedimensions: design, constructionand the whole value stream.
