【摘要】：經(jīng)查考歷史文獻發(fā)現(xiàn),吳宓留美期間不僅在哈佛大學(xué)演講《紅樓夢》,還將"寶玉探晴雯"片段英譯為舞臺獨幕劇,發(fā)表于美國《波士頓郵報周刊》。這是國人將小說《紅樓夢》譯介到西方的最早翻譯嘗試,譯作充分體現(xiàn)了吳宓的翻譯觀,也豐富了《紅樓夢》的早期譯介傳播方式。
[Abstract]:An examination of historical documents shows that Wu Mi not only gave a speech at Harvard University during her stay in the United States, but also translated the excerpts of "Baoyu and Qingwen" into a stage one-act play, which was published in the Boston Post Weekly in the United States.This is the earliest attempt to translate the novel A Dream of Red Mansions to the West, which fully embodies Wu Mi's view of translation and enriches the early translation and dissemination methods of A Dream of Red Mansions.
