【摘要】：杜魯門·卡波特的《冷血》和埃里克·拉森的《白城惡魔》均講訴了發(fā)生在美國的兇殺案,兇案嫌犯都是傳統(tǒng)意義上的邪惡人物。他們游離于主流社會之外,象征著美國社會陰暗面。許多學(xué)者研究過卡波特和拉森的作品,但是目前未有人將這兩人作品與古希臘悲劇思想結(jié)合起來探討。本論文主要通過分析杜魯門·卡波特《冷血》和埃里克·拉森《白城惡魔》來探討小說中善惡二元對立的問題。同時本論文也將詳細解讀卡波特和拉森是如何利用古希臘悲劇傳統(tǒng)因素,諸如過失,發(fā)現(xiàn),疏泄以及合唱來構(gòu)建文本,使小說具有古希臘傳統(tǒng)悲劇特色的。立足于這兩部非虛構(gòu)小說的悲劇特點,論文將揭露出兩位作者對幾位兇犯不同性質(zhì)“惡”的倫理態(tài)度,尤其是作者對待因遭受童年早期悲劇而犯罪的嫌犯的道德情感變化。從兩部作品中可以看出,兩位作者流露出了如果我們社會機械化地去判斷善惡,不去真正了解善惡本質(zhì),那么我們?nèi)祟悤�喪失共情思想。作為一名著名作�?卡波特對拉森有著巨大影響,拉森也期望創(chuàng)造一部可以與《冷血》相提并論的非虛構(gòu)性作品。本論文旨在論證出兩位作者是如何在古希臘悲劇結(jié)構(gòu)下產(chǎn)生相似性的善惡道德觀念。從兩位作者的思想觀念里,我們可以看出傳統(tǒng)的善惡觀有些過于絕對。本論文集中于討論卡波特和拉森是怎樣利用古希臘悲劇結(jié)構(gòu)來創(chuàng)作小說,以及他們是如何層層遞進解構(gòu)善惡的二元對立。本論文在前三部分主要介紹這兩部小說的普遍性文學(xué)評論及文中重要的文學(xué)理論框架,借用亞里士多德的悲劇理論有助于揭示兩部小說中由作者人為設(shè)定出的二元對立,再進一步通過小說精妙的情節(jié)與描述去解構(gòu)這種對立性哲學(xué)。杜魯門·卡波特和埃里克·拉森傾向于在他們作品中建立一種傳統(tǒng)觀念并擅于找出其中的漏洞和缺陷,這正是批評精神的表現(xiàn)。本論文注重兩位作者對善惡二元對立結(jié)構(gòu)消解的文學(xué)性過程。
[Abstract]:Truman Capote's Cold Blood and Erik Larson's White City Demons both speak of homicides in the United States, where suspects are traditionally evil. They drifted away from mainstream society and symbolized the dark side of American society. Many scholars have studied the works of Capote and Larsen, but no one has combined them with the tragic thoughts of ancient Greece. By analyzing Truman Capote in Cold Blood and Erik Larson in White City Demon, this thesis explores the duality of good and evil in the novel. At the same time, this thesis will explain in detail how Capote and Larsen make use of the traditional factors of ancient Greek tragedy, such as fault, discovery, catharsis and chorus to construct the text, so that the novel has the traditional tragic characteristics of ancient Greece. Based on the tragic characteristics of these two nonfiction novels, this paper will reveal the ethical attitudes of the two authors towards several murderers with different nature of "evil", especially the moral and emotional changes in the author's treatment of suspects who have committed crimes due to early childhood tragedies. It can be seen from the two works that if our society mechanically judges good and evil and does not really understand the essence of good and evil, then we humans will lose empathy. As a famous writer, Capote has a great influence on Larson, and Larson hopes to create a nonfictitious work which can be compared with Cold Blood. The purpose of this paper is to demonstrate how the two authors produced similar moral concepts of good and evil under the tragic structure of ancient Greece. From the two authors' ideas, we can see that the traditional view of good and evil is too absolute. This thesis discusses how Capote and Larsen used the tragic structure of ancient Greece to create novels and how they gradually deconstructed the binary opposition of good and evil. In the first three parts, this thesis mainly introduces the universal literary criticism and the important literary theoretical framework of the two novels, and draws on Aristotle's tragedy theory to help reveal the binary opposites created by the author in the two novels. Further, deconstruct this kind of antagonistic philosophy through the exquisite plot and description of the novel. Truman Capote and Eric Larson tend to build a traditional idea in their works and be good at finding the loopholes and defects, which is the manifestation of critical spirit. This thesis focuses on the literary process of the two authors' deconstruction of the binary structure of good and evil.
